Behaviour, Evolutionary Ecology and Conservation Research Group

BEECon is cross-faculty research group based in the School of Earth and Environmental Science and School of Biological Sciences at the University of Manchester. The group comprises of three P.I.s, Tucker Gilman, Keith Jensen and Susanne Shultz and our associated research groups.

Our research revolves around addressing outstanding issues in behavioural ecology and evolution, conservation biology and reproduction using a combination of theoretical modelling, experimental work, field studies and comparative analyses. Some of our current research interests include:

The role of imprinting on evolutionary dynamics (TG)

Social networks in equids (SS)

The evolution of mating systems, population structure, and sociality (SS)

Macro physiology and species sensitivity to environmental change (SS)
